The COMPANY

Aesclepius Corporation is an early-stage medical device company.  We are committed to putting the most efficient, most effective, and most reliable instruments into the hands of surgeons in order to achieve best outcomes in patient care.  Founded in 2017, Aesclepius has 6 provisional patents in several areas of orthopaedic surgery and care.

The Team

Adam H. Hsieh, Ph.D.
Founder, President, and CEO

 

Dr. Hsieh completed his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University (1994), Ph.D. in Bioengineering from the University of California, San Diego (2000), and postdoctoral fellowship in Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of California, San Francisco (2004).  

 

He is a former tenured faculty member in the Fischell Department of Bioengineering at the University of Maryland, College Park (2004-2018), and was adjunct faculty in the Department of Orthopaedics at the University of Maryland, Baltimore (2005-2016).  

 

After 14+ years at UMD, he decided to leave academia and founded Aesclepius Corp in enthusiastic pursuit of making a more meaningful impact in the medical field.  Altogether Dr. Hsieh has had over 30 years of continuous experience in numerous aspects of orthopaedic science and engineering. 

Joe T. Lin, Ph.D.
Founder, Senior Executive Vice President, & COO

 

Dr. Lin received a B.S. in Applied Mechanics and Engineering Science from University of California, San Diego in 1993, and a Ph.D. in Bioengineering from the University of California, San Diego in 2001.

Dr. Lin is an industry expert in the implantable medical device field. He previously held the position of Research Program Director at GlySens Incorporated developing implantable glucose sensor for diabetes monitoring. Dr. Lin offers over twenty years of experience and expertise in implantable medical devices, to take a project from concept through many stages of research and development, including design, engineering, manufacturing, sterilization, animal studies, validation and clinical studies.
